When I can tell that Jeremiah is going to yell "MINE" or "NO" because he is being a 2 year old Alpha Male who does not want to share (whether it be his plate of food, toy or scooter) I quickly look at him and say.... "If you have nothing nice to say, then say HELLO". It works so well!!! Cause at his age "saying nothing" is really not going to happen because he is agry about something, but if I can divert his anger into a greeting (which it always works and he normally ends up patting their back too) it ends much happier. Try saying HELLO when your mad....it's kind of hard...you almost want to be happy :).
