What does...
-A broken pipe/valve thingy (I don't know)
-Tons of water every where
-Tons of Towels everywhere
all have in common????
A FLOOD IN YOUR KITCHEN AT 9:45pm!!!
Kyle was working on replacing this leaking valve thingy and all of a sudden this 50 year old (yes that is how old our home is) pipe that the valve was attached to broke and water started shooting everywhere from under our sink. Kyle started cussing (which I can count the times he has done that in the 8 years we have been together so you know he was panicking) and was trying to control the amount of water that was coming out the the pipe. Kyle had earlier in the day tried to shut off the main water valve and for some reason had a hard time with it and knew it would take him to long to try and figure it out in the dark so he asked me to go get our neighbor Dan who is a Handy man. Dan was thankfully up and quickly ran over and shut off the main water with in like 1 minute. The water pretty much just stayed on the tile (just a tiny bit got on the laminate so we are praying that it doesn't totally mess it up...but we did dry it up and put a blower on it for a while). We got all the water up with towels....pulled the stove and dishwasher out and had to get all the water out from behind those areas. I am just extremely thankful that Kyle had just gone around everywhere in the kitchen and caulked EVERYTHING and did a really good job so hopefully (Lord willing) there will be minimal or no damage at all. Dan stayed at our house for an hour helping us clean up (mind you it is 9:45) and then fixed the old pipe and the valves that caused the flood. So now everything is back to it's normal dry self and thanks to Kyle holding the water as good as he could....his extremely OCD caulking....and our wondering neighbor Dan to the rescue. Here are some pics of our kitchen....all flooded looking but it still looks awesome.

I hadn't seen the kitchen yet....LOVE it! I did like the black and white tile....but the new kitchen is so you. Enjoy your new little home.....it's always something to fix or replace, but I have loved every minute of owning a home!
I cannot believe how much WARMER the kitchen looks from the color choices you have made. Beautiful. Sorry for the flood, that is no fun, but thank goodness you know your neighbors and they are friendly and helpful!>
